ICT: A Challenge accepted

The main purpose why technology is invented is to make life easier and accessible, it aims to unify people through technology. In the context of most people today, almost everyone has the access through wide varieties of gadgets and devices. Technology itself has brought us closer and closer together. And as future ministers of Christ, it is an evident challenge to be relevant in the world we now live in and also to be faithful to the text. The main purpose of our existence is to Glorify God in everything we do. But that's not the usual thing most people in the world today do. Though technology can bridge the gap of distance it is also the other way around. Through technology people begin to invest time in front of computer screens and gadgets rather than investing time for productivity and for the benefit of the soul. Today's generation is an example how technology makes its own gaps in the lives of young men and women. It does have another advantage, with technology data gathering becomes a lot easier and efficient. In the world of academics, information is a necessity. It is the life blood which makes us move forward for the future. Yet on the other hand technology is very wide. And it also has all. From academic lessons and health information that contributes to the well development of a person to pornographic sites and other destructive information that could corrupt a person. The world today is being narrow down by technology. Although it also has its power of advantages it can also leave a devastating trail to those people who would harness that power for destructive purposes. This is a great challenge for us pastors to be in the future. That challenge is how to be relevant and in the same time faithful to the scriptures. Knowing that scriptures is the only thing that we human beings need.  That's one challenge I am will to accept.
